No idea. If it's "Worker N stderr:" then it's coming from the Perl code.
Are you doing any DNSBL lookups, or connecting to a remote Clam scanning
machine, or something like that?
If it keeps happening, you'll have to sprinkle some "print STDERR ..."
debugging statements in your Perl filter to isolate this, or try to use
strace or similar to catch a Perl process in the act of having difficulty.
